Serpico was an interesting character, a man who must struggle to preserve his own moral fiber by exposing a system of police corruption. 81) Joel Goodson in RISKY BUSINESS (Tom Cruise) One of Cruise's earliest performances was truly one of his best. Teenage comedies can be pretty much hit or miss, with more misses than hits. But RISKY BUSINESS hits all the right notes, at providing something more unique and with more depth than your average teen comedy of the 1980's. As a young man who actually cares about his future to get into college, it's amazing to watch Cruise's performance as he ends up having to deal with events out of control when a call girl begins to take over. Plus it's a powerful portrait of one young man's coming of age. And that's the bottom 20 ... 80 more to go! I'll reveal more each article for the next five articles, counting down until we finally get the best and most memorable film characters of all time!
