A TIME FOR TERRIERS!

On June 11th, a host of dogs and owners from near and far, gathered together for 3 fun-filled days of celebrating The Terrier. No, it was not Montgomery County, or any other dog show for that matter.

The setting was Pat Muller's beautiful Quansa Kennels in South Beloit, Illinois, and the event was Quansa's first annual Back To Their Roots Weekend.

Highlights included Pat's successful pet mannering training, a study in pack behavior, temperament testing, assessing dogs and rehabilitation work. There was an introduction to sports such as obedience, tracking and hunting. The dogs had a great time participating in agility, earth dog activities and just plain fun while their owners enjoyed horse drawn wagon rides, cookouts and the warm hospitality of their hosts at Quansa.

This note from longtime Lakeland breeder, Jo-Lynn Hefferman, is just a sample of the positive feedback from the many owners and breeders who participated. "Just got back from the Back to Their Roots weekend at Pat Muller's... the most worthwhile training seminar and fun time I've been to ever! Carmen did great after her mannering training and Saturday, we had the Lakies and many other breeds running together on the property. ....I would never have believed rowdy Carmen could behave herself so well in such a short period of time. I certainly plan on raising up future pups with Pat's method. I was very impressed."

Those who were fortunate enough to be able to attend are now enjoying their wonderful memories and reaping the benefits of Pat's valuable training methods.

For the rest of the world, we take pleasure in presenting a look at this unique event in photos and the words of its creator, Pat Muller.

BACK TO THEIR ROOTS!

It is so hard to believe the weekend is over. It was absolutely wonderful. I want to thank all the special people who worked so many hours. They cooked, took pictures, cleaned, planted, painted, built things, "created" and went after all the things we forgot. The weekend would have been much less memorable if not for you.

I want to thank all the people from my classes who came out for the demo. What a wonderful demo you did. All of these families have worked so hard training their dogs, I was very proud.

I want to thank all of you who came by plane, train, bus, and car. Many came from very long distances. Your enthusiasm and participation made all the work worthwhile. Many wanted to come but just could not arrange it. They sent their best wishes with the promise to come next year.
