The celebration of two people vowing to love each other forever is usually the best part to the bride and groom's guest. It is a time to fellowship with family and friends. It is a time to rejoice for great blessings that a family has received. Usually celebrations are a big affair with exciting music, great food, and of course free drinks. However, a small celebration can be just as memorable.

Your first act to set up your reception is to find a site for the celebration to take place. It is important that you keep notes of each place you look at as possible sites. These notes should include itemizations of things like the quote price and if it is inclusive , additional charges such as gratuities, overtime fees, and sales tax. Once you have the offer from the owner of the reception site you should insist that all details be put into writing. Be sure to include all dates, times, prices, and descriptions of services that are suppose to be provided to you in your written contract. Most reception site will ask for a down payment a week or two before your actual event so be prepared to pay a percentage or all of the cost of renting the site in this time frame. Reception site vendors are bound to charge more for a Saturday night event so if you are looking to save some money try scheduling your reception around Saturday night.

Choosing your form of entertainment at your reception can be fun and time consuming if you do not know of a good band, Disc Jockey, solo singer, or musician. . If you decide to pay for a full band you can expect to hear that band audition for you after business hours. This will be convent for you because you will be able to meet them in person and get a good impression of their talent. If this is not possible most bands can provide you with a videotape or audiotape of them performing. If you are unsure of a band, most bridal shows will showcase bands for you so be sure to visit a bridal show near you. It is very important to select a band carefully. In this way, you and your future wife or husband to be can enjoy a wonderful night of celebration with your family and friends.

Some couples choose to have their weddings catered by professionals or loving relatives. You can sit down with a caterer or your relative and decide which are the best dishes to serve to your guests. They can help you plan a food menu that will accommodate you guests and even a little extra left over. Great food can liven up any celebration but a free bar will most defiantly make your wedding one of the more popular. If you do not plan to celebrate with alcohol a nice touch is to serve sparkling cider instead. It still has the same charm as champagne but is far more safer.
