Wedding Bands

The selecting of your wedding bands will be a very personal experience. Your wedding bands should be one of your main priorities in preparing your wedding. They are just as important as your $2,000 gown or the huge reception after the ceremony. Your wedding bands will be an outward symbols to all the world that you have made a life long commitment to your mate. It also will reflect your sense of style and oneness with the man/woman you will promise to love forever.

Wedding bands come in all different styles, golds, tones, and glitz. Gone are the days of the traditional identical gold bands. Couples are now choosing bands that reflect their unique style. For instance, my wedding band is 10K gold with 12 small diamonds across its face. It matches nicely with the engagement ring my husband gave me with its emerald cut stone and five identical diamonds to my wedding band on each side of the cut stone. Separately, they are fine thin pieces but together they form a perfect fit. It is important for each couple to obtain rings that will be comfortable and look complementary with anything that you should decide to where in the future.

It is important to take at least a good six months to shop for wedding bands. In this way you will have time to find exactly what you want and possibly get a real steal from your jeweler. Be sure to allow plenty of time when buying your rings. Sometimes rings have to be sent off to be sized or to be ordered in the size needed. This process could take months. It is important that your rings arrive on time so that none of the specialness of the ceremony will be ruined by having to borrow someone else's rings.

Selecting your jeweler will be an important step in buying your rings. In order to get quality jewelry, you should look for a jeweler that has been in business for a number of years. Also, you want a jeweler that will work a payment plan out with you if you are unable to pay for your rings in full at time of purchase. Most jewelers have financing available, however, not all jewelers supply this service. Please keep in mind just how much you can afford for your wedding bands or engagement rings. It is a typical standard in the diamond industry that a couple will spend two month's salaries on their rings.
