First Monday is Not on Monday

The shopping area covers a large expanse of open-air vendors as well as indoor vendors with heating and air conditioning. A trolley service is available to transport shoppers from some parking areas, and mobility scooters can be rented by those who aren't up to a lot of walking. While each day is busy with shoppers, young and old, the biggest crowds show up on weekends. Shoppers should go early and plan to spend all day. Those who want to see everything will need several days and may take advantage of any of a number of nearby restaurants, motels, bed and breakfasts, or campgrounds.

Remember Canton First Monday Trade Days are always held each month on the Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday preceding the first Monday of the month. The next First Monday will take place December 3 - 5 with about three-quarters of the vendors present on December 2nd. Although the January sales to be held Dec 31st to Jan 2nd offer the best deals, the December trade days allow plenty of time to get your Christmas shopping done early and all in one place!

Visit the Canton Trade Days website for weather forecasts and information to plan your shopping trip.

A charming place to visit in central Texas is recommended here. Eve Carr describes it this way, "Actually, the breakfast and restaurant are not the only great things about staying here. The cabins themselves offer great privacy and, since they are authentic historic cabins, dismantled and moved here from other locations, you can step back in time."
