Interactive - a very touching series of articles written by NASCAR fans that have been influenced by chance encounters with drivers. It also provides a place for the fans to share and support their favorite sport with others. Besides, if it were not for the fan there would be no sport! You can send in your own Fan Memories by following this link....Fan Memories Wanted!!
NASCAR Personality - This section is very nice. It tells the stories of those who have been essential in the building of the NASCAR sport. It also has a section Called NASCAR families that tells the stories of racing families and their changes from generation to generation.
Race History - This is one of the best sections of the Anniversary page! There are several stories that describe spectacular, history-making events in NASCAR.
Tech - Ever wonder about how racecars evolved? How about the old inactive tracks? Well this section will answer all your questions! There is some neat stuff in there about how the cars evolved into the controversial objects of rule changes and aerodynamics.
The only thing bad I have to say about the site is that it seems a bit hard to navigate and find all the hidden articles. BUT I found a way around that...Archives there! Now if you get lost or confused following some of the links about this will help get you back on "track."
Well enjoy the site and help NASCAR celebrate!!!
The track troubles at Texas Motor Speedway reared their head again Saturday after the Bush Series race when water began seeping up through the track surface. The seepage caused the late day Winston Cup practice for set-up to be cancelled, forcing NASCAR to call for a mandatory caution flag at lap 30 to allow the teams to adjust their race set-ups.
Unfortunately, the mandatory caution was not the first caution of the day. On lap 1, a 10 car crash in the fourth turn brought out the first caution and a red flag. The tough track only had one race groove down low and when Ray Bradberry got caught out of the groove, he tried to get down back into the race draft and caused a terrible chain reaction. Since the race groove was only one lane those behind the crash tried to check up but as soon as they left the groove they lost control and went where the car wanted to go... the wall. Those included in the crash were Dale Earnhardt, Kenny Wallace, Darrell Waltrip, Rick Mast, Ernie Irvan, John Andretti, Kevin Lepage, Ted Musgrave, Hut Stricklin, and Jeff Gordon. Several others spun out but received no damage.
