Win a Helmet and Race Tickets!

You can win Brendan Gaughan's autographed racing helmet, along with two tickets to the 2005 Brickyard 400 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway! A web site entitled "Crisis Connection" is raffling off these items to support its efforts in curbing and combating domestic violence.

I'm sure a lot of you who are reading this may not be aware of who Brendan Gaughan is. Presently, he is the driver of the #77 Kodak/Jasper Engines sponsored Penske Racing's Dodge in NASCAR's elite Cup Series.

Brendan is the son of Las Vegas Hotel and Casino owner Michael Gaughan, and the grandson of pioneer Las Vegas gaming magnate Jackie Gaughan. The 29 year old racer began racing off-road desert rats when he was 15, and moved his way up the ranks to the NASCAR Winston West Series, winning their championship in 2000 and 2001. Gaughan moved up to the Craftsman Truck Series in 2002 winning Raybestos Rookie of the Year honors in the #62 Dodge truck sponsored by his families' Orleans Hotel and Casino. He won two Craftsman Truck races at Texas Motor Speedway in his rookie year and won six events in 2003, finishing fourth in the series championship point's standings before moving up to the elite NASCAR Cup Series.

The raffle tickets for the Brendan Gaughan autographed helmet and the 2005 Brickyard 400 tickets are $5 each. Proceeds go to the Crisis Connection, which is dedicated to helping women, children, and all who are subject to any type of rape or domestic violence.

You'll need Adobe Reader to access the ticket order form to print out and use to send for your tickets. If you don't have Adobe Reader and don't want to mess with downloading it, you can send your $5 for each ticket desired to: Crisis Connection Inc. - PO Box 903 - Jasper, Indiana 47547. The drawing for the autographed helmet and the Brickyard 400 tickets will be held in conjunction with the Bass Pro Shops MBNA 500 event at the Atlanta Speedway on Sunday, October 31st. Brendan Gaughan will be drawing the ticket for the lucky winner!
