Billy Idol: A Rebel With An Attitude© Michele Morabito
Everbody loved his hair. In the '80s, Billy was just the ultimate. A rebel; a rebel with an attitude; a rebel with an attitude wearing leather and a sneer and best yet, he could sing a note or two. MTV played the hell out of him. "White Wedding," was highly rotated and now has a second life on VH1. It even has a "Pop-Up Video"
Recently announced in AllStar Mag.com, Billy (real name: William Broad), his manager, and former Generation-X bassist moved to block NY label Mutiny Record's plans the release "Sweet Revenge," a previously unreleased 1979 album. That would have been cool to hear, though. His album Vital Idol, contains popular Idol songs like "Dancing With Myself," and "Mony Mony," plus "Rebel Yell," "Eyes Without a Face" and "To Be A Lover." Billy did not survive another contract with his record label, but, according to Allstarmag.com (6/04/98) again, Idol has just inked a record deal with Glen Ballard's new Java label, which is distributed by Capitol Records. The label also recently signed Lisa Marie Presley and Terence Trent D'Arby. It is said that he and Stevie Stevens are back together and recording again for a new album due out in the Fall. Can the Idol Days of Billy be over and a tour be not far behind??? Go To Page: 1
