Because of these new ties, Susanna and Debbi got together and started writing in 1998 and it worked. Vicki also joined and the beginnings of a reunion started coming together. Susanna's husband then asked for the girls to write three songs for the soundtrack to Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me. This caused Michael Steele to come aboard and the lineup was back and songs were recorded including "Get The Girl". Interestingly enough, The Bangles collective turned down the Lilith Fair tour well as to co-headline the major Go-Go's reunion tour later that year, of which all The Bangles are friends with all The Go-Go's. A year later, the decision to reunite became reality. They made an appearance for Sir George Martin for the Beatles Tribute. They spent a good portion of the year 2000 in the studio with producer George Drakoulis (the Black Crows) writing material including: "Between The Two", "The Good Son", "Here Right Now", "I Will Take Care Of You", "Lost At Sea", "Ride The Ride", "Stealing Rosemary", "Single By Choice" After working out schedules, The Bangles formally announced their return in July 2000 with a September "House of Blues" tour, to be followed by a new album and a much larger tour for 2001. A "secret" gig was held in Los Angeles on September 10th with the band hidden as "Liquid Circus". They played to a packed house. No word about the new album as we go to press. Note: addition, The Bangles will be appearing on WB show "The Gilmore Girls" on Thursday, February 15th.
