They have tons of great shows including "We Are The '80s," "The VH1 Classic Alternative," "Pop Show," "Rock Fest," and of course "Metal Mania." It's also a very interactive network with message boards and a show that plays nothing but requests.
VH1 Classic Metal Mania: Stripped is the first of many upcoming VH1 Classic products. The songs on the CD are acoustic versions of some of the biggest ballads from your favorite hair bands and were gathered from imports, live recordings and hard to find albums.
Some of the songs included on the album are Poison's "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" and Queenrysche's "Silent Lucidity" from MTV Unplugged, Scorpions "Wind Of Change" from Acoustica Live, a live acoustic version of Tesla's "The Way It Is," a solo performance of "Miles Away" by Kip Winger and an acapella version of "More Ethan Words" from Extreme.
There are also six brand new acoustic recordings from artists such as Night Ranger, Cinderella, White Lion and Great White.
According to Jamie Talbot, the producer of the compilation, these songs have held up really well over the years. "If you look beyond the hairspray and leather pants that many of these metal artists are perhaps best-known for, you find powerful songs that stand the test of time. Many of these hits were written on acoustic guitar or piano and later transformed into more elaborate productions. We believe Stripped offers versions of these songs that reveal a warmth and intimacy that allow the melodies and song craft to shine through in a way not widely heard."
