Adam and the Ants Reuniting© Michele Morabito
Adam and the Ants are reuniting? "...don't drink, don't smoke, whatcha going to do?....." and doing that white-boy-dance-thing (per Eddie Murphy) with the hands and feet swishing through the air.
Adam seems to scare and delight. Why the holy heck did the man wear warpaint? He's from England, for crying out loud. Through researching Adam, his name is not Adam but Leslie Stuart Goddard and all of 44 years old. Wow. He has also appeared on a few American TV shows from 1985's appearance on "The Equalizer" and the 1992's appearances on Nothern Exposure and Tales From the Crypt. Adam reportedly also divides time between England, Los Angeles and Tennesee (bet you weren't expecting that), has also recently married again (he was married before in his younger pre-Adam days), became a father to a baby girl in April 1998. His new wife is all of 19 years old (this is most likely where the Tennesee part comes in). Some things about rock stars just never change, do they? The last thing we heard about Adam was in 1995 when Wonderful came out. What a wonderful song indeed. Then suddenly it was gone. As it turns out, Adam and some band members got sick and had to cancel the tour. Adam and The Ants Per AllStar Magazine 10/01/98:"Now that becoming a father is out of the way, Adam Ant and his wife, Lorriane (who is one of the project's main consultants-[ed note: hmm, interesting]), can get back to their business at hand: finishing the Adam and the Ants box set. The set is tentively scheduled to surface on Epic Records U.K. in Spring 1999 with a U.S. date to follow down the road. Not much more is known about the project at this time, but there have been rumors circulating around the U.K. of an Adam and the Ants reunion tour with at least two original members, Ant and guitarist Marco Pirroni, who joined the band in 1980 and last toured with Ant in 1993." It looks like a possible reunion, but more like a big-deal boxset cometh, called ANTBOX20 (mimicking MATCHBOX20?). With a strong frontman like Adam (also Boy George, etc), one forgets the rest of the band. There is Dave Barbarossa who is now with The Hangovers and Marco Pirroni who continues to work with Adam and Sinead O'Connor. Go To Page: 1 2
