Julian Lennon: Back on Track© Michele Morabito
Julian Lennon's family musical roots begin in the '50s and '60s, he himself came to light in the '80s. Everyone knows that Julian is the first-born son of Beatles' John Lennon and his first wife, Cynthia. As such, he is always compared to his father. The relationship between Julian and John seems to fascinate, and as quoted on a web site , "it is the relationship that never happened."
Julian's album Valotte came out in 1984/85. It was poppy, fun and fantastic. He had two singles from that album - "Too Late for Goodbyes" and the title track "Valotte." The song "Jesse" was a great hit as well. The next album, The Secret Value of Daydreaming, with the song "Want Your Body" being the most popular. The third album came out in 1989 and titled Mr. Jordan which, which was re-released recently in Germany. But then again, a majority of '80s acts fell by the wayside by that time. Julian did persist with another album in 1991 called Help Yourself. It didn't make much waves, and consequently was dropped by Atlantic Records. Julian had a bit of introspective time to deal with his personal life (his relationship with actress Olivia D'Abo of Wonder Years fame fell by the wayside) and some legal entanglements with his father's estate. Finally, we came to the present. His legal and personal lives back on track, Julian has come out with his new CD in seven years called Photograph Smile off his own label called Music From Another Room. It has not been released in the Americas yet, but it has been in the rest of the world. Go To Page: 1
