Who can have enough flowers? With imagination and a few patterns to get you on your way, you can dot your hats with country blossoms and rain petals and leaves all over your wardrobe. Saucy bags may wink with violet petunias and your bedroom could be an ivy cottage.
Take any yarn, any needle you fancy. Shaded or handpainted wool makes an attractive leaf, displaying blushes of green tones.
Cast on 5 sts.
(0 = yarn forward between needles)
(SSK = slip 2 sts knitwise, one at a time to RH needle. With LH needle knit these sts together through front from left to right)

Have a rummage through your files for knitted/crochet lace edgings. A short length of these often work well rolled up into a rose (secure with a few tiny stitches at base). Scalloped shapes will remind you of certain flowers and are quite pretty. Don't forget to add twisty i-cords, buds, acorns and nuts to your clusters. What a wonderful way to use up those smallest balls of leftovers! Follow these links to free patterns with flowers:
Spring Tissue Cover. Boutique style tissue box with doll and flowers in pink, pale green, yellow (crochet).
Daffodil Hanger And Cover. Needs Adobe Acrobat Reader (free). Soft hued colors (crochet).
Wild Rose Boutonniere. Needs Adobe Acrobat Reader. I love this as a jacket spray (crochet).
Roses Square. Use this square for anything. The center rose is in a sophisticated rosewine color with the leaves crocheted separately and sewn on.
Sunflower Square. Julie's Sunflower Square is jaunty -- put these heavy-headed dazzlers on a carry bag.
See you next week,
