"Oh, excuse me!" I said as I passed a woman in the toilet paper isle.
I had caught her cart with my purse causing her to swerve and
knock five packages of toilet paper off the shelf. We both scrambled
to pick them up.
There's nothing wrong with my purse actually. Except for the fact that maybe it could be replaced with one half it's size and still hold the contents of my closet. OK, so I'm a "purse person". I love purses. Big ones, little ones, leather ones, wallets-they all intrigue me. I love the ones with secret compartments and lots of little pockest and zippers. There's just something about the fact that I can organize all of my stuff- or junk as my husband calls it-and take it with me wherever I go. I love looking at other people's purses and have been snubbed quite a few times by women at the check out counter thinking I'm trying to discover how rich they are. I've gone through a few purse phases in my life. When I was little I would carry around a tote bag (I just love saying that word over and over-tote, tote, tote!) with all of my doll clothes, my play makeup and sometimes even our dog. It was so fun to walk around in my plastic heels "toting" my stuff around. My mom would clean it out every once in a while and secretly throw some of my treasures in the trash can(except for the dog), but always to no avail. I often discovered them before the garbage man would come and back in my tote bag they would go. Then I hit my teens and had to find something a little bit more conspicuous. I found something light, with lots of little pockets and the plastic picture holders for all of my friends and hopefully boyfriend's picture. And of course I got the one with a matching key chain in it for when I got my driver's license. After high school I got a job and was able to open my own checking account. So obviously I needed a different wallet, one that could accommodate a checkbook. Did I want just a checkbook cover and then a purse to carry it in? Or should I get a bigger wallet with a checkbook holder inside? Such trying times in the life of a young woman! Then I got married, had a few kids and now I'm to a big purse that Go To Page: 1 2
