off-road race that's more than 700 miles long
is a testament to the Hummer's
manageability," says Eric. Terry, an avid lover
of horse races, has seven children. Eric, who
enjoys golf, has five daughters ranging in age
from 13 to 25 years old.
Dr. Cort Stoskopf blames his wife, high school sweetheart Susan, for his love affair with the Hummer. She insisted that he needed a new toy, the ob/gyn claims, so he went to the Marvin K. Brown dealership in San Francisco and bought one the same day! After meeting Rod Hall at a Hummer off-road race in 1995, he decided to get involved with the team. Three years later, Stoskopf is the proud owner of two Hummers, thanks again to Susan. The Stoskopfs live on a 30-acre ranch in Fallbrook, California, that they have built into a medieval theme park and have affectionately dubbed "The Bear Cat Ranch." The two raise a small pack (five) of Chow dogs. "Keep winning" sums up the future of the Hummer racing team, although "keep dominating" is probably more accurate. This one-of-a-kind vehicle really goes the distance, both figuratively and literally. "I can't help but think back to the first race where we showed up in the Hummer. Everyone scoffed, saying we probably couldn't make it past 40 m.p.h. Four years later, no one's been able to touch us," says Hall.
