Dionne Warwick became a star this year, and one of the best singers of the decade (and putting Burt Bacharach and Hal David on the map). ”Anyone Who Had A Heart”, a Jan. entry, was a no. 8 smash. ”Walk On By”, a May entry, was a no. 6 smash. The lovely ”You'll Never Get To Heaven (If You Break My Heart)” peaked at no. 34 (late Sept.). ”Reach Out For Me” was a no. 20 hit (Nov).
Andy Williams had a no. 13 hit with a late Jan. entry, ”A Fool Never Learns”. ”Wrong For Each Other” peaked at no. 34 (mid-May), while ”On The Street Where You Live”, an Oct. entry, charted at no. 28. And ”Dear Heart” capped off his year at no. 24, a late Dec. entry.
