FOR THE LOVE OF IT

The movement of Soul Music continues to be the number one interest of rhythm and blues fanatics, even after over 75 years of popularity and music hits. Soul Music has some magical element that keeps Soul in the most coveted places amid the charts and hearts of fans. Exactly what is the appeal?

It's the mix of love and sensuality. It's that fine line being walked between fantasy and reality-and oh yes- the sometimes subtle and sometimes obnoctious play on raw, unbridled SEX. Sex appeal. The allusion to sex and love makes fans loyal to any given artist at any given time, THAT'S magic.

The power of Soul Music and it's mass appeal demands that you make Soul Music indespensable part of your everyday life. Let's face it we as fans use Soul Music as an anecdote to life. Both hardships and happy times alike. From the most intimate of moments to the most trying.

How many times has the weather ( autumn's cold, a summer's rain, snow, natural disasters ) threw you in the mindset of love? The first thing you you do is turn on your favorite slow jam and cuddle up with that special one. What if life isn't being so kind? You need an escape. You want to imagine being in someone's comforting arms. So you imagine yourself with your favorite love crooner and you get swept away. The fantasy takes you away and briefly you forget about the troubling situation. THAT'S power. Heartbreak creates the need to know that "I'm not alone. Somebody out there knows what I'm going through." So, we look to Maxwell,Angie Stone,Musiq,Stevie Wonder and the like to become our "chauffeurs into another place, another time, another fantasy.

Any situation we may find ourselves in, any experience we may be dealing with, we find in Soul Music a relativity and an escape. Neo-Soul has a cure and a contribution. It's all LOVE.

Hey

Yes, I'm telling my age but I think that the P-Funk should be into the Neo-Soul class of music.
