Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison and Ringo Starr soon became the most successful music group in the history of show business. Their music, like Elvis, will live on forever.
When the Beatles made their second U.S. tour, they were asked what they wanted do first, and quickly replied, "We'd like to meet Elvis Presley."
The Fab Four got their wish on August 27, 1965. For a total of four hours, the fab five joked, listened to records, and sang together. Just thinking about it, reminds one of the old saying, I'd like to have been a little mouse that night.
Later when asked about Elvis, Ringo replied, "Fantastic, he was just like one of us. None of the old Hollywood show-off thing."
Elvis loved Beatle's music and recorded three of their tunes, "Hey Jude," "Yesterday" and "Something."
John Lennon once remarked that, "Nothing really affected me until I heard Elvis. If there hadn't been Elvis, there wouldn't have been the Beatles."
Paul McCartney recalls, "Every time I felt low, I just put on an Elvis record and I'd feel great, beautiful."
The admiration between the Fab Four and Elvis continued through out the years with the exchange of congratulatory notes and humorous gifts.
In the 1972 video "Elvis on Tour," Elvis mentions the Beatles in the song, "I've Never Been to Spain."
They can also be spotted in the 1981 movie, "This Is Elvis."
