"A very plain wall becomes raised relief reality with a few stencils and a bucket of joint compound and Wow! The results were amazing! I've been wanting to do this project for months...... turning our basement in to my husband's music recording studio, a place he could feel proud to bring his artists and record them in a classy atmosphere. Well, here it is."

A little about Victoria Larsen

"Being passionate about life in general, I attack everything with a fever. Doesn't matter what it is... business, designing, decorating, relationships or self improvement."

"Life is a learning experience and I want to be as smart as I can be by the time I get old (and before I forget everything I learned!). Home decorating is my biggest focus and the one activity I get absolutely the most enjoyment out of."

You'll see many of her projects and room make-overs within this site and "hopefully they will give you some ideas and the courage to forge ahead with your own projects."

"Having been raised with tubes of paint, brushes, thinner and paintings everywhere, the concept of designing came naturally and I've been designing either music or art since I was very young. (Even got in trouble for drawing in my baby book hiding under the kitchen table when I was little!). My artist Mother encouraged my every endeavour and to this day does still with great fervour."

Plaster Stenciling in Our History!
Victoria's goal is to "revive the art in a huge way, giving you options galore, easy instructions and lots of ideas." Plaster stencilling has been around for decades and Victoria aims to "bring it back in to fashion with new, updated ideas and stencils for today's modern homes and tastes." The artform was used to enhance the ceiling of the East Room of the American White House way back in 1902!     Because I am a Primary School Teacher the children's murals presented on Victoria's site fascinate me. I have been researching how children's stories are transposed into mural form and how kid's are encouraged to be creative when they live in inspiring surroundings imbued with story. The design developed by Victoria's sister Spring is an example of this. The mural is called Jack and the Beanstalk.
