Wedding programs have become a popular item to incorporate into today's weddings. They have not always been apart of the wedding ceremony. The reason for its popularity is because it gives the wedding parties' guests the feeling of actually being apart of the ceremony and how it will be conducted. A wedding program gives wedding guests the information they need concerning the ceremony so that they do not feel lost or unaware as to what will be happening next. In other words, a wedding program is a guide for your guests.
Sometimes wedding guests will not understand the different religious traditions of a wedding. Therefore, a wedding program is a wonderful opportunity to explain certain aspects of the ceremony to guests. Also, it should include an itinerary of the wedding. This simply means to list step by step what the guests can expect moment by moment to happen in the ceremony. An itinerary can begin with announcing the prelude of music so that the guest knows that when they hear the prelude then the wedding is beginning and it can end with the recessional which lets them know that the ceremony is over. Also, it should list the names of songs being sung and by whom. If there are any special readings whether it is from the bible or poetry, give the titles of the readings and the name of the person reading. Another part of a wedding program that must not be forgotten is the announcement of the wedding party. Wedding guests will want to know who is in your wedding party. By doing so, it can become a wonderful memento for you, your parents, your wedding party, and guests. It will be wonderful for the wedding party to see their names in print with titles such as: Maid of Honor, and Brides Best Friend. All participates in the wedding will have something to remember your special occasion by. You may also use your wedding program as the perfect opportunity to thank your parents for all their help in putting the wedding together. It can also be used to thank your guests for coming to the ceremony or acknowledging special guests that came to participate in your special day. Also, it can honor people in your family that are deceased and/or unable to celebrate your day with you. Special touches like these will make for a more memorable experience for your wedding guests and also yourself. Go To Page: 1 2
