African Modern Theatre
African Modern Theatre
The earliest-known so-called theatrical productions took place in 2000 BCE with the passion plays of Ancient Egypt, when the story of the god Osiris was performed every year at cultural festivals. In the modern day the wide variety of different cultural groups across the African Continent express themselves and their beliefs through a wide range of theatrical performances. Many groups perform around the world opening the eyes of their audiences to the lives of the various cultural groups.
